About the Jenkintown Newcomers Club
In 2009, the Jenkintown Newcomers Club celebrates it's 66th year! The Club was created in 1943 to welcome new neighbors, foster a sense of community and make new friends. From fall through spring, the Club holds monthly activities to bring people together. Most of the events are for women, however certain activities are for spouses, significant others and children. Any Jenkintown resident can join the Club, whether new to town or just new to the Club.
Participation
All new members and those with five or fewer years membership are asked to join at least one committee to help plan and coordinate events. After five years, members may elect inactive status, which means optional committee participation. We invite all members, both active and inactive, to join us in events throughout the year.
Dues
With dues of $15 dollars (per household), you are entitled to a copy of the Membership Book, which features a complete list of members and an informative calendar of upcoming events. Annual dues are paid each September and are valid for the club year, September through June, however you may join at any time during the year. There are fees for some club events to defray the cost of programs, food, and entertainment. At the end of the Club's fiscal year, any excess funds are donated to organizations that benefit Jenkintown and the greater community.
